Objective: Describe the results of medical equipment management and some influencing factors at Medic Binh Duong General Hospital, 2023.
Methods: A cross-sectional research design, combining quantitative and qualitative, was conducted on 232 medical staff and 125 medical devices at Medic Binh Duong General Hospital from February 2023 to June 2023.
Results: Survey of 125 medical equipment, the results of medical equipment management showed that 3 contents were not achieved including: "Clearly record the name of the user for each use", "Clearly record the time of each use", "Clearly record the status of medical equipment after each use"; Results of medical equipment maintenance and repair management, 100% of medical equipment met the requirements. In the survey of 232 medical staff, the results of medical equipment management and use were mostly good, except for the knowledge of the technical staff on the use of medical equipment which was assessed as good at 5.2%, normal at 94.8%; The results of medical equipment maintenance and repair management, most medical staff commented as normal including staff maintaining and repairing medical equipment at 93.5%, spare parts, repair tools, and specialized measuring equipment at 100%, and contracts with external units to perform maintenance and repair at 44.8%.
Conclusion: Hospitals need to have a plan for regular training in the use of medical equipment, send technical staff to attend specialized training courses, and provide additional funding for the maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
