Objective: Management results to assess the current status of social work activities at Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City from 2017 to 2023.
Subjects and method: A retrospective cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted, utilizing available reports and interview medical staff.
Results: Management results to assess the social work department at Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital engages in six primary activities, which include emergency support in the Emergency Department, hospital fee assistance, "Meals on the Wall," a "Love Sharing Booth," support for essential living expenses, and compassionate rides. These activities are designed to target patients facing challenging circumstances. The percentage of supported patients has steadily increased over the years, with 2022 recording the highest level of patient support.
Conclusion: Continued investment in hospital operations and specialized human resources for social work, particularly within the hospital setting, is necessary to ensure the efficiency and scientific advancement of these activities.
