Objectives: In order to provide information to help come up with appropriate solutions for scientific research activities in hospitals, this study was conducted with the goal of describing the current status of grassroots-level scientific research activities at the Thu Duc city Hospital, period 2017-2021.
Method: Designed a cross-sectional descriptive study, collected secondary data from plans, reports and 155 basic scientific research records managed in the period 2017-2021.
Results: Research results show that on average, the hospital have 31 grassroots-level topics each year, 35.5% of these topics are in the field of basic medicine, 39.4% in health management, and 20,6% in clinical medicine and other 4.5%; The rate of topics published in specialized scientific journals is 46.5%; The percentage of topics belonging to the clinical/paraclinical department is 54.9%.
Conclusion: Regarding the process of managing grassroots-level research projects: Many steps are not performed according to time and form, such as the steps of reviewing outlines, reporting progress and liquidating the project. The hospital needs to increase human resources with experience in scientific research management, gradually improve the criteria for evaluating the quality and applicability of grassroots-level scientific research projects and increase the appropriate level of cost support. for individuals and units with good quality research. Continue to strengthen training and coaching activities on scientific research.
