3. STUDY ON INJURY CHARACTERISTICS AND EVALUATION OF THE RESULTS OF TREATMENT OF ROTATIONAL SPREAD OF THE SHOULDER JOINT WITH LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY IN THE CAN THO CENTRAL GENERAL HOSPITAL FROM 2020 TO 2023

Abstract

Aim: (1) Survey clinical characteristics and magnetic resonance imaging in patients with rotator cuff tears; (2) Evaluate surgical results and shoulder rehabilitation results by endoscopic rotator cuff tendon surgery at Can Tho Central General Hospital in 2020 - 2023.

Methods: Retrospective descriptive combined prospective study on 41 patients aged 16 years and older diagnosed with rotator cuff tears and operated on at Can Tho Central General Hospital by laparoscopic surgery from January 2020 to December 2023.

Results: In the study, there were 27 male patients, 14 female patients, the average age was 54.68 ± 10.19 years old. This vulnerable manual labor occupation accounts for a high rate, accounting for 73.17%. Classification of torn tendons on MRI shows that supraspinatus tears account for 70.73%, supraspinatus and subscapularis tears account for 4.88%, and the remaining supraspinatus and infraspinatus tears account for 24.39%. 100% of patients had good wound healing after surgery. Evaluate the results of shoulder rehabilitation based on the UCLA score recorded at 3 months after surgery: 2.44% scored 34-35 points (very good); 95.12% scored 28-33 points (good); 2.44% scored 21-27 points (good).

Conclusion: Endoscopic rotator cuff tendon surgery gives quite good results, this is the optimal method of choice for treating rotator cuff tendon injuries.
